Mindfulness @ Work

Mindfulness is fast becoming an important contributor to workplace effectiveness and well-being. Being mindful is a practice that trains you to pay full attention to your present-moment experience, in a non-judgmental and non-reactive way. The aim is to develop focus, clarity, creativity and compassion.

Unless trained and practised to do otherwise, our minds are either in the past or future, analysing, criticising, worrying, evaluating, day-dreaming - leading to unfocussed over-doing, multi-tasking and reactive responses. Advanced neuroscience now shows that this damages your productivity, brain and relationships, not to mention your physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

  • Increase your mental clarity and capacity for creative problem solving.

  • Stay focussed and manage distractions and time wasters.

  • Learn simple yet effective techniques to manage stress and overwhelm.

  • Develop the freedom to choose your responses rather than reacting in "auto-pilot".

  • See what is really happening in situations rather than what your mind tells you.

  • Feel more engaged, relaxed and joyful as you go through your day.

Focus is Power.

It is simple but not easy. Mindfulness practice involves noticing things deliberately, both within yourself (breath, body sensations, thoughts, emotions) and in your environment (people, places, nature). Examples include daily reflection time, breathing pauses, mindful movement and attention techniques.
